In 2013, I lectured Academic English and Business English to pre-degree B-Com and IT Students as part of a Higher Certificate program as preparation for the degree program. CTI implemented technology enhanced education and the tablet PC was introduced as a replacement to all textbooks and study guides. Students used the tablet PC for management and organisation of their learning, taking notes electronically, for research purposes and word processing; the first higher education institute in South Africa to introduce this.
I was nominated to present my findings on the integration of the tablet into my subject field to a CTI inter-campus seminar. I was also appointed to be the examiner for the Business English module and thus gained experience in assessment development. I was furthermore approached to assist with the development of the Academic English content. I was responsible for the learning, assessment, development, organization & administration of approximately 300 students.
